Qwest R & gt701 modem and good works, but every time I turn on the light in a room in the basement of some that I lose the connection. . . does not affect other lamps and the modem is upstairs in a room that is not directly above the room in the basement. Qwest tech support is useless, called, even with continually say it is another thing, even if I can turn on and off with !!??!!??!!! !!??? lumièreLe switch wiring is not crossed. . . nothing changes with the modem or the light switch on or off, except when the light of the modem is not connected, but the power remains. . . Qwest does not even recognize it could be anything other than the modem or the settings, but I tried two different modems and the same problem and nothing else affects the connection to a different time to other problems mentionnésOui DO phone line through this Part. . lights can cause interference with DSL phone line ???????. . . . . . . Please everyone remember to be a problem and electrical wiring least you know what you mean. . . Thanks

You might want to check the wiring to the plug and the light. It sounds as though the AC plug you are using is crossed with that light circuit to me. That could be a real problem if it is misswired. I have seen alot of house with wiring that isn’t exactly like it should be. (Qwest wouldn’t work on house wiring.)
To see turn the light on and see if power to the modem goes out.. if it does CALL AN ELECTRICIAN!
If all the electrical is correct then its possible the phone line runs very near the light wiring and is picking up interferance from the light. This happens with flourescent lights and ethernet lines in offices more often than anyone wants to admit!
Is there an electrical outlet in that room that might be connected to the same switch as the light? A phone jack or phone wiring passing through that room?
If this is the only switching that causes this, get an electrician to check it’s wiring, or better replace it completely. The kind of effects you are seeing might be an indication of more serious problems. You don’t want to risk an electrical fire.
