- I have Qwest DSL and an Actiontec GT701 router, I just bought a Belkin F5D9230-4 wireless router and I can go on the Internet very well (mostly) .- I was told that I configure DSL router / modem in a pont.Quelqu can explain why it had to do and how? I am very familiar with all settings and may need to configure the PPPoE on the Belkin (user name, etc.).. . What are all the steps I have to go (I know I will have to be continuously connected to any of the Actiontec or Belkin, then reboot, then something else). . . But not too sure all necessary steps to take. . . Can someone please explain? Thanks

Go to the Support pages on Qwest they have a ton of information.
http://www.qwest.com/internethelp/modems/gt701/index.html?option=installation
You will see a PDF file for using transparent bridging mode.
BUT – The other easier and perhaps better way to do this is simply put the IP address of the Belkin router into the DMZ list of the Actiontech! That will “bridge” without actually using the bridge mode and both will still function just like they are supposed to!!!! Just put the Belkins IP as a DMZ IP.. That is the WAN IP given to the BELKIN! You don’t even have to change your PPPoE settings this way!
Be sure the BELKIN DHCP is NOT on the same range as the Actiontech!!! IE The action tech is at 192.168.0.1 and that is the DHCP range for all that connect into it. Be sure the DHCP for the Belkin is set to 192.168.1.x or 192.168.2.x etc DON”T even think of using the 192.168.0.x range for the LAN side of the BELKIN! The good news is that the Belkin by default is already on 192.168.2.1 so leave it and your fine!!!
This will actually allow you to have TWO separate networks!
