How do I fix my slow internet problem ?

by DSLModem on May 25, 2010

I began to fix for months thinking it was not much. But right now I can not stand the slow and I'm not even sure what makes it so slow. I can not see the page, video and images take forever to charger.Pendant a moment I wondered if the wiring of my Qwest DSL modem (Actiontec GT701) I do not know if relevant, could be applied wrong? At one point I unplugged a child to connect to my laptop and use it. Another thing is whether it is because the team is low on memory. I have no money to buy more memory and there is really much here. I have about 230 songs in iTunes I got the CD, you just downloaded, and perhaps some 100 paintings. Apart from that there are no big programs elsewhere, AIM, MSN jours.Possible I use every third problem could be the team says that the network limited or inexistanteVitesse toujoursConnexion localConnectivité: 100. 0MbpsIP, default gateway, we all know nothing about computers vides.Je Besides the basics. Any help useful.

Truly, no offense and not trying to be rude:

But it sounds like to me you need to upgrade that connection. Where I live my service provider offers 2 different “high-speeds” one is 10.0 and the other is 20.0

Its offered through Insight.

20.0 is AMAZING !!

Slow ?! Thats heaps better than mine! lol..

If you playing games or anything like that you probs need to upgrade your ram (memory) maybe a new computer if its over 4 years or so old.

Well, you have a bad connection to your internet… as in you’re not fully connected… restart you router, play with your wirless, or plug it in until you have a stable connection

as for the memory you have to shell out some money or you sir are done

the best thing to do is to find a way to back up your songs and pics on a external hard-drive and then format the computer if u have the disc for the OS.
If u cant do this, it may be better to delete files, or buy another computer. Perhaps u could try to update comp with More GB of memory

Ok i had understood your problem
your computer shows Limited or no connectivity popup in the right side of the computer near the system time ( system tray)

1.)try this step start—>setting—>control panel—>network connections—>local area connection—>settings

set the ip address automatically —>apply & ok

2.) if this not solves your problem . contact your friends who are using the same service provider internet and ask for ip & gateway details

if your dsl ip is dynamic type, it wil solve your problem
if your dsl connection is static type …. you should follow the last and final step
3.) contact your internet service provider regarding your ip,gateway,submask,etc..

the internet protocol (ip) and default gateway varies in each countries & varies for each internet service provider

in our country its like 192.160.0.3
255.256.0.0
Bye :)

You problem can have many causes. However, you may can easily speed up your internet by clearing your web cache. This is the amount of space reserved for temp files. Here is how:

Manual steps to erase your temporary internet files.

1. Quit Internet Explorer, Firefox, or any other web browser
2. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
3. On the General tab, click Delete Files under Temporary Internet Files.
4. In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the Delete all offline content check box , and then click OK.
5. Click OK.

If you prefer not to delete all the files you can selective search each category and delete. The temporary files are broken up into six categories. To view your internet files follow the steps below:
In Internet Explorer

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu.
3. Click the General, Under Temporary Internet Files, Click Settings.
4.Click View Files
5. Delete selected files
