Ive got an Actiontec GT701 modem DSLUn USB connection equipment in the documentation that walks laptop connection EthernetSelon installation is fine, however, pages can take up to 5 minutes to load even when the iTap press refresh IP address to connect to my router can take a long time. . . Oddly direct connection icon connecté.L in the task bar shows two computer screens flashing arent. . . there does not blink blink alternating occational strong bases that are in solides.Internet modem, USB, Ethernet and the lights are flashing dslguide retarted.selon. com my speed is 1492 Kbps and 742 Kbps DSL with MSN Premium upload.Qwest is service. Qwest and has so far done little to help. and above all know I have no choice but to spend $ 30 more per month for cable Internet FIABLE.Donc my question is, what could be in conflict here and the cause of my connectivity issues? ? thanks "blah" but I'm connecting a newly formatted machine. . . I ran a netstat and showing a lot of connections to 192. 168 final of things in my modem configuration page is 192. 168. 0. 1 so I'm assuming that all connections are on the router itself

I’m no expert…but it looks like your connection is being used heavily by some software…have you checked for viruses and worms??
If I were you I would format and reinstall Windows and then see if the problem persists. I had a problem with my connection where I could only ping myself and no other machine. My browsers kept “looking up” web addresses. I formatted my system and that solved the problem.

Try starting up like this:

1) Switch on modem, wait till stable. Do not turn on anything before this.
2) switch on router, wait till stable.
3) Once router is stable, then turn on PC.

If problem still occurs, there might be something wrong with your telephone line.

Since it appears you already know the basics of the Actiontec GT701 standard modem.
If you have not done so yet, Unplug it. After thirty seconds, plug the cord back in and then run the set up disk Qwest Care and see if your settings make better adjustments.

If Qwest Care gives you a code to share with Qwest DSL Technical support do the walk or start talking on this site and show us all what you got.

Stick to the basic rule too. Don’t share with the whole world if you don’t want the whole world to try to help themself crack your computer some day.

Call Qwest DSL support or post all the data from netstat and the GT701 so they can be analysed by someone with a track record in dealing with your problem.

Call Qwest DSL Support and have them go through the guts of the settings of your Actiontec GT701 with you. It’s mess in there.

When you get them to help you open up your Actiontec Go to WAN in the left column. Click on it and then scroll down until you see what the SNR Margins reading is.

If you have less then 10/7 in the readout your phone line is noisy. Make sure all of your phone outlets, Cable box, or Satellite DVR lines connected to your phone line have the Filters installed on them. Every line in your place, needs those little filter boxes. If you had more lines tehn three, time to get some more filters for those.

If you have that done already, click on the button at the bottom that says, “Clear.”

Wait for it to restore the page and then see if the SNR Margins changed. If the download ratio changes allot, like mine does, it means your service is getting a lot of noise from the phone lines. Could be your main wire to your phone, or a jumbled bunch somewhere along the route back to the CO..

My download Signal to Noise Ratio margins have been at 1/ or 23/ at times While the upload SNR margins have been /7 or /8 constantly.

If those numbers on the download side stay low, nag the DSL Service support tech about it. About the fact you should have a 10/7 range for good noise friee upload and download so your digital signals get through at the speed you expect them to.

Oh1 And after you open up to the router, Find and change the admin name, to something you can write down and remember for later.
Don’t change anything else unless you know what you’re doing or the Tech support tells you too.

Ill give you a simple answer cause i can guarantee you that its not an ISP problem, i work for D-Link and we occatioanlly get this problem, their are 2 things that you can try, reset the modem, and if that doesnt work you are going to have to reload the firmware.
The reason i say its not ISP is because even the config page of the modem is slow
